We're now testing products for use on IoT (internet of things) networks, typically Sigfox & LoraWan. The advantage of these low-power networks is extremely long battery life for tracking devices, plus very low data costs compared to cellular systems as no SIM card is required. Operating range & in-building penetration can also be much better than with GPRS devices. Typical uses are for isolated assets such as agricultural equipment, skips, heavy plant & machinery, and boats without power.
